It's the beginning of another school year, and with that, a whole new season of NERF action! We are very excited to bring you all plenty of offseason events and HvZ fun this semester.

To kick things off this semester, we had a table at the Armory for the BGR freshman, and man, did we get a lot of interest through that! Thanks to the staff that helped man positions at the table.



Our next event will be an offseason game! We're having Capture the Flag at Academy Park this Friday, from 2 - 5:30. Stop on by to play or just meet up with friends. The Facebook event page can be found here.

On Saturday the 18th we will have another table at the Boilermaker Get Involved Fair in front of the Union, starting at 2:00. Stop on by for information and to welcome new potential members to the club!

Finally, we have another advertising event at PSUB's Activities Bonanza. This will take place next Thursday, the 23rd, from 11-3, in front of the Union. Feel free to swing by here as well!

That's all for now, but make sure you save the date of September 6th, at 7pm in CL50. This will be our BLT GENERAL CALLOUT, describing what the club does and how to join in. This is the main event that you will want to bring friends to. Help welcome new people to our community!

Wait... all of those scribbles are BGR people that are interested in HvZ?

Yep we had signups for a mailing list, that is all 16 pages of names/email addresses and this guy gets to go through all that crap tomorrow and setup a mail-to list.

On top of that the table as a whole passed out ~400 fliers, so if we get even a fourth of that at the CTF game Friday, there is going to be a shit load of people at that CTF game.

Edit: Also, bring all of your Nerf gear to the CTF this Friday. A lot of these freshman won't have their own gear so it would be cool on our part to let them use some of our equipment to join in on the fun.

HvZ is the week of october 22...which is still a ways away. BLT is the organization that puts together and runs HvZ, so going to a BLT callout is like indirectly going to an HvZ callout. By going, you support the people who put the game together and you learn more about the game itself. BLT also runs "off-season" events between HvZ games, such as capture the flag. I can tell you that from experience, participation in off season events tends to give you some more experience and turns you into a much more polished player than attending HvZ week alone. However, the number one goal of BLT is for it's members and participants to just have fun, so if going to HvZ week and nothing else is how you'll have the most fun, that's what you should do. If you think you want to give off-season events a shot, you're more than welcome to come to as many or as few as you'd like.

that is very good news, looks like you made a jump on promoting, something we always should have done.

unfortunately i will not be returning to purdue, blasted graduation...but i am going to try if time allows to make it for the week event! at least some of it
