The Boiler League of Tag

Our Mission

Boiler League of Tag, chaired entirely by current students, holds events that are based around the game of tag. Our organization promotes leadership and intuitive thinking, and encourages all students to network and create relationships, both professional and personal.

We pick our staff very carefully, and hold them to the highest standards. We hold elections at the end of every semester, and our full staff list is avaliable here

Our Goals

Create Leaders

Players will often travel in groups during games and the success or failure of a group depends on the person or people in charge. Our hope is that each member of a group or team can share their strengths and succeed.

Encourage Teamwork

In almost all of the Boiler League of Tag games, solo-play or lone-wolfing is a failing strategy. Players are encouraged to form and join groups with people they don't know.

Promote Fitness

Almost all games put on by Boiler League of Tag are outdoor games which require extended periods of running. Many players use our games as a reason to exercise beforehand in order to be prepared.

Foster Inventive Thinking

The Boiler League of Tag staff works hard to create unique in-game situations. These situations allow players to attempt several different solutions and techniques to triumph in each situation. If players fail in a certain situation, the staff will create similar situations, allowing players a second chance at the problem. The outcome to which these events proceed, is entirely decided by players and their solutions, which can help or hinder them in their current situation.

Provide a Neutral Space for Communication

Boiler League of Tag offers online forum areas for players to congregate and socialize. Areas are provided for game communication and comparing strategies, role-playing, sharing arts and creativity, as well as a place for individuals to ask questions of our staff, and for general discussion of current events.

Break Down Social Barriers

Boiler League of Tag treats every member the same. This means that a player on a Purdue Athletic team, an All-American Marching Band member, a Purduette, an Honors student, or an International student are all treated the exact same way. Boiler League of Tag encourages players from different majors, classes, clubs, and walks of life, to team up and work together to successfully complete objectives and goals.
